Every year a group of Kenyans will graduate with the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certificate. This achievement that starts one toward a nursing career is one of the great achievements of a graduate as well as for the Kenya community. Following a tradition started almost 2 decades ago, Diaspora Kenyans who graduated 2017, celebrated their education achievement with family and friends. Congratulations to the graduates of 2017.

The nursing profession is considered one of the best careers one can choose due to the ever growing demand of nurses. In the U.S the ratio of nurses to population is at 1 nurse for 100 persons in the population. The ration is projected to keep creating more jobs for nurses as the population increases and as persons live longer.

The nursing career also has a good pay that enables one to meet the daily family needs. Children of the graduates were also very happy that their parents had decided to go back to school and had graduated.

“Diaspora Kenyans who have become part of the healthcare system in the U.S today contribute to making the U.S healthcare system one of the best,” said one of the guests joining the nurses in celebration as he looked at the nurses wearing white. He added, “I’m so proud to see all these nurses study and graduate.”
