“Wow! Did you see that dress the Kenya first lady wore!” is the exclamation coming from those who love fashion. First Lady Margaret Kenyatta is setting fashion styles and trends for Africa. Indeed, by the end of the first term Kenya should take the opportunity not only to become the best dressed nation but the biggest producer and exporter of fashion.

Clothing industry from a designer point can be a very exciting career if one gets off the ground. Fashion icons in the West are known to advance designers careers. One sector that Kenya economy has never established fully is the clothing industry and specifically designer clothing. The first lady could be establishing this sector as she awes Kenyans with he dressing.

There is no doubt that First Lady Margaret Kenyatta can dress. I doubt there is any first lady in the Sub-Sahara Africa who would beat her in the art of dressing. For this reason President Uhuru Kenyatta could have a secret weapon for the revival of the clothing industry and also making Kenya the best dressed Country in Africa with the help of Kenya’s First lady.

Indeed, inspired by the first lady styles Kenyans can become designers and even achieve exports to all African countries all over the world. Finding a fashion icon is rare; there is no doubt Kenya first lady has the capability to become a fashion icon not only for Kenya but for Africa and even the world. This alone could be a multi-billion dollar industry in the making.

For designers it all starts with the creativity to create and the ability to get the fashion icon to see your product. From that point destiny may have knocked at your door.
