The city of Springfield in Massachusetts is famous for its past citizens
invention of the game of Basketball that is today played all over the world. It
also neighbors the city of Holyoke a few miles to the north whether the game of
volleyball also a popular sport all over the world was also invented. It is in
this city that Kenyan chef John Mukora and family live and would host family,
friends and Kenyan runners who are studying in U.S through scholarships offered
to runners and are champions in various All America cross country races.

The joy of this Christmas to many Kenyans abroad was there was no snow and it
was not freezing cold. The other joy of those who attended the chef’s
Christmas in Springfield was the delicacies transported back to the feeling of
home. The food presented made the celebration have the feeling of a Kenyan
Christmas in Kenya as the guests enjoyed delicacies with the Kenyan flavor even
though miles away from Kiambu, Narok, Nakuru, Eldoret, Nandi and Kitale.
The menu was made up Nyama Choma, Goat meat stew, Madazi, Chapati, Pilau Rice
and cupped with Kenya Tea.  Mukora, who is also a runner, is considering joining
to contribute in shaping the policy of Kenya. He passionately believes every
Kenyan in Kenya can have a great festive Christmas with enough food during the
day and also throughout the year. He is considering taking the experience he has
gathered in the food sector of the U.S to debate in legislative bodies and
contribute ideas that can lead the country to food sustenance.
If Mukora ends up running for political office in Kenya, just like Kenyans were
assured a good feast during Christmas the chef will ensure enough food is always
available for Kenyans and no one goes hungry. The question however is: Can he
forgo the NBA Basketball that living in the city of Springfield and
understanding the game has contributed to him becoming a fan? The Christmas was
also about watching the Dallas Mavericks play the Miami heat and the exciting
game of the L.A Lakers and the Chicago Bulls.
