Earlier this week, US President Barack Obama honoured two Kenyan women as champions of change. The two Dr. Christine Martey-Ochola and Dr. Wanjiru Kamau-Rutenberg have done tremendous work in inspiring young people to be courageous enough to dream of a better future.

The achievements of these two Kenyan heroes demonstrate to us not only that we can each make a difference, but that actually the difference is us. Therefore, as we celebrate their success, we must remind ourselves that a brighter Kenya will result from the multiplication of our individual efforts. You and I must stand up and be counted. A brighter Kenya is us!

Wakati ni sasa! Can you be counted on the side of a brighter Kenya?
