“I have arrived in New York for the 69th United Nations General Assembly and other bilateral meetings. I will first attend a meeting of the Regional Oversight Mechanism of Peace, Security and Co-operation Framework for DRC and the region on Monday which will discuss recent political and security developments in the region. I will also attend a meeting on domestic financing for health whose theme is ‘Invest to Save’,” President Uhuru Kenyatta posted on arrival at New York City home to the United Nations and is also called the financial capital of the World.

The President is accompanied by First Lady Margaret Kenyatta during this trip. He is currently hosted by the Kenya Ambassador to the United Nations Amb. Macharia Kamau. The President will also be meeting Kenyans in the Diaspora on Thursday 25th 2014. 

The United Nations was formed 69 years ago in 1945 to prevent global wars. It is currently made up of 193 nations.
