Lucy, the founder of Kigum Limited and a business lady based in Mombasa region, has in the past year continued to search for the a good location for the Kenya University Project that is targeted for the Coastal region. She would welcome the idea and show Dr. Wilson Endege the coast region. Investing her time and resources, she continues this exciting and challenging task like a marathon runner would run each mile with only one goal of getting to the finish line. Her finish line is finding a suitable location for these things have to happen in Kwale or Kilifi County.

More Jobs
The university will create employment opportunities for faculty and staff. The estimate is to grow the region jobs with more than 50,000 new jobs, both direct and indirectly jobs, in the next 10 years.

Eradication of Unplanned Settlement
Mombasa coastline currently has many unplanned or semi-planned settlements. Anchored on one of the lead university in the globe that has impacted many regions all over the world, the university will is expected to bring a stop in the growth of unplanned settlements and gradually reverse the unplanned settlements with a goal to help Mombasa residents eliminate slums.

Better Roads
As an engineering university, the university will play a pivotal role in working with the counties of Kwale, Kilifi, Mombasa, Lamu and Tana River in bringing its infrastructure planning to the highest quality standards.

Better Houses
The university working hand in hand with the construction industry will be a leader in having better planned homes that meet standards that can protect life from: Fire, Earthquake, Floods and other potential disasters. It will also help in teaching young engineer minds the discipline and knowledge needed to build a Sky Scrapper to even 100 story's tall that residents can spend a night in without worrying the building shall collapse.  

Better Management of the Natural Environment
The university working with the community will be able to have a positive impact in making a better environment in the region.

Better Water Management
As a research institution, the university will have a direct impact of the water management and planning issues of the region to enable a better quality of life.

Better Health for community
The university through working with the community will help create a better healthy community. With a Bio-technology Research park the university will be able to meet the research needs of medicine to cater for residents.

More Bridges
The Mombasa island needs for more bridges will become possible with the establishment of a top engineering school at the university in corroboration with WPI. More bridges will mean faster movement and more time spent at home or doing other things.

Counties Economic Growth
The university teaching of young minds toward becoming entrepreneurs will help economic growth in all Counties and especially those in the coastal region. 

Increase  Integration of the Coastal Community with the Global World
The university will enable the Kenya Community be more integrated to the global world through access of better technology, research and tourism.
