Diaspora University Town developers team preparing to kick off the project in Voi met at what will become the Diaspora University Town offices before the site offices are built. The offices will be along Mombasa – Nairobi highway approximately 10 km from the Diaspora University Town site.

The first stage is the establishment of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) report as per Kenya Constitution 2010 and Environmental Management and Co-ordination Act 1999 Revised 2012 is the first step.

Kenya Constitution article 42. states “Every person has the right to a clean and healthy environment, which includes the right—(a) to have the environment protected for the benefit of present and future generations through legislative and other measures, particularly those contemplated in Article 69; and (b) to have obligations relating to the environment fulfilled under Article 70”

The report will ensure that the development achieves a clean and healthy environment by taking all considerations necessary including the mearsures to ensure no slums emerge as the project is developed, waste management, dust management, storm water management, trees, water and other environmental concerns.

Diaspora University Town plan aims at creating an environmental town that gives the residents clean water, clean air, healthy environment, safety, security and a great lifestyle every day.
