Taita Taveta Member of County Assembly (MCA) Hon. Abednego Mjala has embraced the Diaspora University Town project and shall continue to support the project. In a meeting at Wundanyi, the capital of Taita Taveta County, Hon. Mjala reviewed the next steps for the project with Dan Kamau and Joseph Mwandairo. The MCA said he is ready to do anything needed on his part to see the project progress.

As the representative of the ward the project will be developed, Hon. Mjala welcomed the project as a project that will benefit the residents of the ward, Taita Taveta and Kenya. Joseph Mwandairo who has complied a list of engineers, builders and other professionals who are ready to work in the project said the project will create thousands of new jobs for young men and women becoming adults.

Currently the biggest resource lost in Kenya is time that is not productive every day. Estimates are that every day Kenya loses time worth billions of shillings due to lack of projects the time can execute.

The Diaspora University project is estimated to put into use about 100 million hours of time as 20,000 new jobs are created in construction of roads, buildings, university, industries and other small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

The plan will also create millions of hours demanded as materials and products to be used in development are produced in different parts of the country.
