Charles Gicheha, a Kenya businessman doing business in Voi, who visited the Diaspora University Town site December likes the jobs creation and housing development approach of the Diaspora University Town projectevelopment. After review of the approach, he has decided to develop 20 acres of land to create jobs and develop houses through a plan that would have the project affiliated with Diaspora University. He says, ā€œIā€™m happy that I will not be selling plots, but creating jobs and developing houses.ā€

The 20 acres of land is situated along the Thika – Garissa road close to 14 falls. It is opposite the Mount Kilimabogo. The plan to be implemented on the 20 acres will lead to development of: a gated community settlement of about 300 persons, a STEM high school that prepares students to join Diaspora University, a light industrial park to produce construction material and a Commercial center. About 100 new jobs will be created as the land is put to economic use.

Charles says this plan once developed and with the consideration of the Kenchic industry recently built barely 1 km away from his land could start the creation of a well-planned one or two-kilometer town along the road. He says a dam built along Thika river will border his land.

Having read the quote in www.kenyauniversity.org, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world,” by Nelson Mandela several times he is ready to develop a school, buildings for light industries and a gated housing community in partnership with Diaspora.
