Former PM Raila Odinga Meeting With Diaspora University Town Developers

Former Prime Minister, Hon. Raila Odinga, met with the Diaspora University Town developers Ernest Kamau, Rose Ndiritu and Christine Kamanda over dinner in Nairobi. The Diaspora team talked of the ongoing University Town project and the opportunities the project will create in Kenya. The former PM welcomed the project saying the Diaspora can play a big part in Kenya development.

Diaspora University Town project is ongoing in Taita Taveta. It is a project for development of a new University Town. The project is conceptualized to create jobs and develop houses. In the first 5 years the project is expected create 20,000 jobs and 6,000 town houses.

The Diaspora University team during the meeting informed the former PM that the project had so far received Expression of Interest jobs by those who would like to part of the project. 

The project will also contribute to the growth of Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Kenya. With about 500 million pieces of materials expected to be applied in the design-build of the project, this is a great opportunity for Diaspora looking to open industries to join the material supply system.  

The Diaspora University developer’s team were happy to meet the former PM whom they described as a great humble man. They welcomed advice from the former PM who has a lot to offer.
