I met with Kenyans in Bomet and Tharaka Nithi Counties. Like you and me, some of these Kenyans are struggling daily to make ends meet. That life has not been easy for them was evident in their looks and demeanor. As leaders, these are the incidents that increase our resolve to change Kenya forever in 2012. Never again shall our people walk in shame because they were hoodwinked to elect the wrong leaders by tribal chiefs who do not have wananchi’s interests at heart.

Elsewhere in the country, tribally-inclined politicians continue to dwell on who should be appointed or dropped as running mate and why. I suppose the debate would be more helpful if it was about the leadership Kenya deserves to unlock the potential we have slept on for the last 48 years. The Kenyans I meet every day, including those I recently met in Sotik and Tharaka, concur with me that what we need is a leadership, not determined by ethnicity, but by an ability to capture the imagination and the aspirations of the Kenyan people. With your support I, Peter Kenneth, promise to deliver Kenya from tribal to politics of issues and ideas.

Many Kenyans, me included, have in the past elected people who have not returned to the village until the next elections were called. Some of the leaders have been involved in CDF deliberations only when a contract was awarded to their cronies. I keep asking this question: If one has only managed to plunder the village kitty, what benefit will wananchi expect when this fellow dips his hands into the national kitty? Kama constituency imemshinda, atawezaje Kenya mzima? I urge you to scrutinize contestants well. I will use my experience to focus on solving two of our most immediate needs which are food insecurity and mass youth unemployment. You can find more information on my strategies in reversing this trend in my website www.peterkenneth.com

For us to achieve a brighter Kenya in 2012, I urge you to play your part vigorously. Let us do it like there is no tomorrow because we cannot afford another 5 years of downward spiral. Let issues and ideas of a brighter Kenya be our guiding light. Please do not support me simply because I am from your clan; do so because we share in the larger language of issues and ideas.
