Charisma is said to be a divine given power bestowed upon someone. When established to its full talent and potential it becomes an irresistible gripping magnetic pull. Looking at the picture of Uhuru at Malindi with the smiling spiritual clerics one is easily drawn to charm that is captured on camera. This charm called charisma is said to be the most powerful gift a political leader can be bestowed with. Indeed once this power is given, combined with knowledge for political office one seeks then one just draws the masses to them. Uhuru could be operating in the charisma level. Every current trend shows a spike of his following especially in facebook fans.

In October 2011, our analysis on facebook fans had Martha Karua leading with 145,064, Uhuru Kenyatta 106,126, Raila Odinga 67,460, William Ruto 50,992, Peter Kenneth 43,410 and Kalonzo Musyoka 17,175. Today Uhuru is now first at 155,956, Martha 155,880, Raila 78,118, Ruto 58,470, Kenneth 47,148 and Kalonzo 19,154. From this data Uhuru fans in facebook have grown by 49,870, Karua 10,826, Raila 10,658, Ruto 7,478, Kenneth 3,742 and Kalonzo 1,979. Uhuru growth in the past four and a half months represents a growth of about 60% of the growth of fans by all candidates combined. This magnetic pull if it continues could lead him to State house.

Whereas many have put their bets on the ICC case ensuring that Uhuru is not on the ballot, the case is already a very weak case. The 2 to 1 verdict opinion rather than a unanimous opinion has weakened the case. If the appeal court overturns the case then Uhuru will receive a political boost that can lead him all the way to state house on the first round. If however the case goes to trial and the verdict of "Not guilty," is rendered a couple of months before elections then he will have the opportunity to put his name on the ballot. If the case is ongoing when the deadline to submit the necessary documents to IEBC, then his words as he withdrew from Ministry of finance, “The Ministry of Finance deals with very sensitive issues that affect the lives of millions of Kenyans and therefore requires maximum attention. I am not one to juggle the affairs of such an important portfolio with the baseless mob lynch mentality that is being orchestrated in some quarters,” may keep him from running.
