Ambassador Jean Kamau having given the deputy speaker of the national assembly Joyce Laboso a chance to speak and introduce the Members of Parliament (MPs) in the audience. The deputy speaker would propose that the MPs take each a minute to address the Diaspora. However, the Diaspora who had waited for the President for more than two hours said a loud, “No!”

Speaking to Kenyans after this almost all said they were not against what the MPs will say but rather there was no time. The Diaspora Kenyans felt that the Deputy Speaker should not have modified the script as so given by the ambassador.

Many Kenyans may have not known that Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko and Nairobi Women representative Rachel Shabesh were part of the audience.
