A handshake is considered as the best political tool for getting supporters and vote. The more the handshakes one can make the better. A handshake creates a great connection when one is able to shake the President hand even for a moment. Before the President first term is over estimates are he will have shaken more than 10,000 hands about 0.05% of the expected 20 million voters before the serious campaign. The handshakes could increase by 50,000 as the serious campaign starts.

The handshake is a political investment when it happens that will be cashed out during the voting and indeed the campaign period. Raila not to be beat has started the referendum push that will also see him meet and shake as many hands as possible.

Having had the opportunity to shake President Uhuru Kenyatta hand at Washington D.C and to shake the hand of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga at Boston, I hope these handshake encounters will not be screaming at the voting booth 2017 if both are on the ballot saying, “Remember I took a moment to shake your hand for I valued you and not your vote."
