5 Diaspora Bills Bishop Mwawasi Will Sponsor Once Elected to Senate

On 2013 Bishop Donald Mwawasi failed to be on the Kenya Elections Ballot because of a wrong interpretation of Kenya Constitution law. He filed a case: Donald Mwawasi verses IEBC and CIC. He lost in the High Court. He took the case to the Court of Appeals. Three judges ruled that the High Court ruling was incorrect and that IEBC and CIC had erred in the Kenya Constitution interpretation. Bishop Mwawasi will be on August 8th 2017 be on the Kenya Election ballot for the Senate seat for Taita Taveta. His election to Kenya senate will not only benefit the residents of Taita Taveta but will also benefit Diaspora Kenyans.

5 Diaspora Bills Bishop Mwawasi will sponsor. 

  1. National Government Incentives for Diaspora Bill. Bishop Mwawasi will once elected sponsor a bill for National Government Incentives for Diaspora looking to invest in projects in Kenya. 
  2. Capital Access to Diaspora Bill. The current financial credit system of all banks in Kenya is about Kshs 2.5 Trillion. This amount constitutes about Kshs 750 billion that is today in the Kenya Credit financial sector because Kshs 1 trillion was remitted by Diaspora. Diaspora is expected to remit another 1 trillion by 2022 this growing financial credit from banks by another Kshs 750 billion. Bishop Mwawasi once in the Senate will sponsor the bill that enables Diaspora tap the growing credit as they develop Kenya.  
  3. Partnerships with County Bill. Bishop Mwawasi in May 2015 through – Kenya Constitution article 185 (4) A county assembly may receive and approve plans and policies for— (a) the management and exploitation of the county’s resources; and (b) the development and management of its infrastructure and institutions – was able to have an Institution Town Development Plan bill passed by the Taita Taveta County that will have Diaspora develop the Diaspora University Town. Bishop Mwawasi once in the Senate will sponsor legislation that will enable Diaspora partner with counties to develop Kenya and grow wealth for Kenyans and Diaspora.
  4. Partnerships with Communities Bill. Bishop Mwawasi on August 2016 was able to establish a partnership between the Diaspora Capital and Ndara B community land, for the production of the Diaspora University Town. Bishop Mwawasi once in the Senate will sponsor a Bill that will enable more Diaspora Capital partner with communities as the Diaspora and Communities exercise their sovereign power directly as established in Kenya Constitution article 1 (2)  The people may exercise their sovereign power either directly...
  5. Diaspora Right to Vote Bill. The Diaspora right to vote is a constitutional right. In 2013 and 2017 this right was not granted to the Diaspora. Bishop Mwawasi shall sponsor a bill that shall fund the creation of a system that will ensure the Diaspora right to vote is met in the next election.
